The Economy and Environment Program for South East Asia, EEPSEA, was established in 1993 to support training and research in environmental and resource economics. Its goal is to strengthen local capacity for the economic analysis of environmental problems so that researchers can provide sound advice to policy makers.
The program provides not only financial resources for research and training to researchers in its ten member countries; it also makes possible access to resource persons (both from within and outside of the region), literature, and the scientific community through networking approach and support to conferences. EEPSEA also provides opportunities for comparative research across its member countries.
EEPSEA research focuses on the internalisation of external costs and the improvement of how environment and natural resources are managed.
