Aart de Zeeuw

Aart de Zeeuw is Emeritus Professor of Environmental Economics at Tilburg University. He received in 1984 his Ph.D. in economics from Tilburg University. He has been Co-Director of the Beijer Institute of Ecological Economics at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Co-Editor of the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, and President of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE).

At Tilburg University, he has been Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Director of Graduate Studies, and Scientific Director of CentER. He was a member of the Netherlands Advisory Council for Research on Nature and Environment (RMNO), and an advisor to the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL).

His research focuses on the economics of dynamical ecological systems, and on dynamical game theory and international pollution control. He published in a wide range of scientific economic journals. He received the Tjalling C. Koopmans medal from Tilburg University in 2017, was awarded the EAERE Lifetime Achievement Award in Environmental Economics in 2018, and became EAERE Fellow in 2019.
