MSc, Research assisstant

Dineke Verkleij

Dineke joined the Beijer Institute for Ecological Economics since February 2024, and is a research assisstant within the Inequalities and the Biosphere project.

As a Cultural Anthropologist and Sociologist, Dineke contributes to research on the trade-offs and synergies between reducing social inequality and safeguarding the biosphere as well as assisting the wider project coordination. Her work involves investigating inequalities at various scales—both within and between countries—and their interactions with the biosphere. She analyses data from fieldwork experiments and international and national agencies.

Dineke holds a BSc degree in Cultural Anthropology and Sociology from Utrecht University. After completing her Bachelor’s she finished a MSc degree in Environmental Sciences at the same institution (part of the faculty at Copernicus Institute), with a specialization in Earth System Governance. Her Master’s thesis focused on social networks configurations in the Dutch transition to nature-inclusive agriculture.
